This
site was designed to be an educational resource for academic or public
libraries interested in developing a Digital
Music Library - an online environment from which one may access audio
files and scores.
Whether it is for music class reserves, entertainment, or other research
purposes, digitizing audio improves access and preserves valuable sound
resources. As digital information increasingly becomes the favorite
information resource of millions of people, we are doing a diservice
to the information literacy needs of future generations to not provide
materials online. This site will explore the digital
audio side of the Digital Music Library - the creation of this content,
other technical considerations, and copyright issues.
